Gracious Truth-Tellers
Grace without truth isn’t love.
Throughout the New Testament, the Apostle Paul paints a picture of spiritual friendship that involves both encouragement and accountability. We’re not given a license to be a jerk for Jesus, and we’re not called to pile guilt & shame onto each other’s sin—but we do have an obligation to lovingly hold each other accountable when we wander. It can be uncomfortable, awkward, and even painful to offer a caring and gentle rebuke to a close loved one, but love isn’t afraid to go there. Grace without truth isn’t love.
