Between a Rock & a Hard Place

Don’t take your failure personally, make your faith personal.

If you fail a test, you could chalk it up to the teacher not liking you. If your cake doesn’t turn out like the one in the recipe book, you could surmise the chef who wrote the recipe book has it out for you. If you get cut from the team because you keep dropping the ball, you could conclude the coach has it out for you.

Or, instead of taking your failure personally, you could take your personal development seriously by asking the person critiquing you to help you grow in your area of weakness. This week in The Life and Lyrics of David, instead of wallowing in his failure, we watch as David takes his failure to God.
