The Story You Bear
It’s more than you can bear, but he’s giving you a story to share.
There’s an adage that floats around, “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” From stories throughout the bible, and specifically from the story in 2 Corinthians 1:1-11, we know that this simply isn’t true. Here the Apostle Paul recounts the story of suffering he experienced which was far greater than he could endure on his own. Through his suffering, Paul’s faith and reliance on God was strengthened. And God is glorified when the story of Paul’s suffering and God’s deliverance is shared with others. Paul teaches us that if we will trust God with our story—no matter how dark it is—He can use it to bring praise, honor, and glory to Jesus.
