Don’t trust your best. Do your best and trust God. – Dallas Willard

Maybe in high school a lot of doors opened for you because you were handsome.

Maybe in college a lot of doors opened for you because you were the best pitcher in softball.

Maybe in the early days of your career a lot of doors opened for you because you were an innovative wunderkind.

But beauty fades. Tendons tear. New ideas come along. And all those old doors seem to be bolted shut.

This week in our series The Life & Lyrics of David we’re looking at arguably the most famous story in history as we reflect on the question, “What are we putting our trust in and building our lives on?”
