Get rid of anything and everything that is getting between you and God.
The author of Hebrews 12 calls us to “run with perseverance the great race marked out for us.” In your own race – your relationships, your pain & problems, your joys & successes, your aspirations, your very life in its entirety – you’re running it right when you are close to God. The desire in our hearts for anything else aside from God causes us to stumble and prevents us from experiencing His holiness. Be it anger, bitterness, shame, fear, lust, or any other of a gamut of sins… get rid of anything and everything that’s getting between you and God.
