Giving and Gaining

When you give what you cannot keep you gain what you cannot lose.
Wisdom is the ability to navigate life well. We long to find the right response, the right words, the right approach as we face suffering or success, and as we manage relationships. The New Testament Epistle of James offers us the opportunity to pluck the practical wisdom of a disciple of Jesus and challenges us to make the choice to apply it to our lives everyday. Join us as we examine the tried-and-true wisdom of James—and discover how living out a wise faith can impact all aspects of our lives.

Homework

May you chase the right things, may you find the life-giving, liberating faith to give you what you cannot keep so that you can gain what you can never lose.

1. Write a letter –Is there someone who has poured into you, invested in you, or pointed you towards a full life? Thank them. Encourage them. Tell them about their impact.
2. Do a spiritual audit of your life. Examine how you invest your time, talents, and resources – How much goes to God?
3. Matthew 16:25-26
