Some Truths God Only Speaks In A Whisper.
When you sit down to watch the movie you’ve been excited to see, you’re not going to watch it while at a parade for many reasons – for one thing, you won’t be able to hear the dialogue.
If you need to have an important, vulnerable conversation with a friend, you’re not going to suggest the discussion take place at a mall two days before Christmas for many reasons – for one thing, with all the clamor you won’t be able to hear their words.
Yes, you can attend college completely online, but you’re not going to listen to your professor’s lecture while waiting in line for a ride at an amusement park for many reasons – for one thing, you won’t be able to hear the wisdom the professor is sharing.
In all of these situations, you have to find a place where you can be alone if you’re going to truly hear what’s being said to you.
This week in our new series, Becoming, we’re looking at how Jesus’ practice of solitude enabled him to turn off the noise of life so he could tune into the voice of God – and how we can learn to do the same.
