“Making Misery”

“Making Misery“

Speaker: McKenzie Newton

Series: Real

Primary text: John 21:18-22

Series: Real
Primary text: John 21:18-22

Comparison makes misery, but gratitude gives joy.

Your house is wonderful. But there will always be someone whose house you think is more wonderful.

Your career is satisfying. But there will always be someone whose career sounds more appealing.

Your friends are amazing. But there will always be someone whose friends seem more invested and connected.

So how do we remain content with where we are in life without ignoring or belittling the blessings of others?

We conclude our series Real looking at the second half of Jesus’ conversation with Peter on the beach to discover the misery of comparing our life to the lives of those around us.

Other texts in this message: Psalm 16:6, Deuteronomy 5:21
