You Are Never More Like Jesus, Than When You Are Serving In Love.
You do it for strangers. Strangers certainly do it for you. Family, friends, acquaintances, at restaurants, online, in traffic, at the park – everyone is doing it everywhere.
What is this widespread activity permeating every area of life? Serving.
Whether it’s holding the door for others, waiting tables, letting someone merge so they don’t miss their exit, or allowing another family to use the swings at the park, our world is overrun with opportunities to serve. Because Jesus said he came to serve, not to be served, as his followers, we want to learn how to take advantage of every opportunity to serve like Jesus.
This week in our series, Becoming, we’re looking at the way serving shaped Jesus’ identity and how it shapes our own as we aim to become more like him.
Other texts in this message: Philippians 2:3-7, John 13:3-5, John 13:17
